Tsinghua University and Chulalongkorn University Sign MoU to Advance Modern Library and AI-Driven Academic Infrastructure


      On February 27, Jin Jianbin, Director of Tsinghua University Library, and Amorn Petsom, Director of the Office of Academic Resources/Library of Chulalongkorn University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of their respective libraries at the Chulalongkorn University Library Exhibition Hall. Guo Yong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Tsinghua University Committee, and Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, attended the ceremony and delivered remarks.


      In recent years, Tsinghua University Library has actively engaged in exchanges and cooperation with numerous prestigious overseas university libraries, including Chulalongkorn University Library. The MoU as aims to achieve three key objectives: enhancing professional capacity, co-organizing international conferences or forums, and strengthening the sharing of academic resources. It also seeks to promote the role of the “modern library” as a key university infrastructure supporting teaching, research, and innovation at the international level, while collectively confronting the challenges and opportunities of digital and intelligent transformation.

      On behalf of Tsinghua University, Guo Yong introduced Tsinghuas global development strategy. He noted that Tsinghua attaches great importance to developing multi-faceted and in-depth cooperation with Chulalongkorn University and other Thai universities adding that the signing marks an important step forward in bilateral cooperation with a clearer framework and goals for academic exchanges. Wilert Puriwat stressed that the signing is not only a cooperation between the two libraries but also an opportunity to deepen academic exchanges between the two universities.

      Jin Jianbin reviewed the visit of the Chulalongkorn University Library delegation to Tsinghua last year. He stated that the three collaborative initiatives outlined in the MoU were extensively discussed and finalized by both parties and demonstrate strong feasibility. He expressed his hope to work with counterparts at Chulalongkorn University Library to implement the cooperation vision outlined in the MoU.

      The signing ceremony was also attended by Zhou Qingan, Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication; Wu Qiong, Dean of the Academy of Arts & Design; Liu Jian, Secretary-General of the Asian Universities Alliance (AUA) Secretariat; Kuang Kai, Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs at Tsinghua Universityand Songphan Choemprayong, Deputy Director, Office of Academic Resources.
