Librarian Tianfang Dou Elected as Member of IFLA Advisory Committee

In May, the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) elected members to its new Advisory Committees through voting. Tianfang Dou, Associate Research Librarian at Tsinghua University Library, was elected as a member of the Advisory Committee on Open Science and Scholarship.

Founded in 1927 and headquartered in The Hague, the Netherlands, IFLA is a leading non-governmental professional organization in the international library community. It is committed to improving the professional service standards of libraries worldwide, deepening the recognition of the sector's value, and safeguarding the rights and interests of the global library industry. Since joining IFLA in 1981, Tsinghua University Library has actively participated by sending staff on multiple occasions to attend IFLA conferences and present papers.

Tsinghua University Library attaches great importance to international cooperation and exchanges. In 2024, Jianbin Jin, Director of the Library, was elected as a board member (Asia/Pacific region) of the International Association of University Libraries (IATUL), and a member of the Steering Committee of the Pacific Rim Research Libraries Alliance (PRRLA). Tsinghua University Library will continue to actively engage in international affairs—including academic resource sharing, global governance of open science, and innovative models of academic exchange—amplifying China's voice and contributing Tsinghua's insights on a global stage.
