On July 8-9, the 6th Forum on Future of World Academic Libraries (WAL) was held in Nanjing. The forum centered on the theme "The Pioneering and Leading Role of Libraries in the Digital and Intelligent Transformation of Universities." Distinguished attendees included Shahbaz Khan, UNESCO Regional Director for East Asia; Vicki McDonald, President of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA); Kate Robinson, President of the International Association of University Libraries (IATUL); Chen Yunsong, Deputy Party Secretary of Nanjing University; and over 700 representatives from 18 countries and regions worldwide.

Jin Jianbin Delivers Keynote Speech
Jin Jianbin, Director of Tsinghua University Library, presided over the forum's opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. He shared Tsinghua University Library's insights and practices in upholding academic integrity in the AI era, highlighting the library's supportive role in teaching and research, as well as its proactive leadership and commitment during the digital and intelligent transformation of universities.
During the forum, Tsinghua University Library also organized a parallel panel titled "Open Science and the Reimagining of Academic Libraries." Speakers included Li Xin from the Chinese Academy of Sciences National Science Library, Dou Tianfang from Tsinghua University Library, Cheng Xin from CNKI, Ni Dongyun from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Weng Lu from the Hong Kong Education University Library, Athra Al Alawi from the Arabian Gulf University Library, Mohamed Mubarak from the University of Bahrain Library, and Jeong Eun-kyung from Inha University Library. They shared innovative ideas, measures, and practices for advancing open science, offering the latest perspectives and best practices for the transformation of academic libraries in the era of open science.

Parallel Panel Speakers
The forum was co-hosted by CNKI, Tsinghua University Library, the University of Hong Kong Libraries, and the International Association of University Libraries (IATUL), with Nanjing University and Southeast University as co-organizers.
