As the saying goes, "the library is the heart of the university." Tsinghua University Library was established in 1912. From the Old Library's construction in 1916 to the completion of the North Library in 2016, the Library was designed and completed by the combined efforts of three distinguished architects from China and abroad, including Henry Killam Murphy(1877-1954), Yang Tingbao (1901-1982), and Guan Zhaoye (1929-2022). Over the past century, the Library has undergone continuous development and cultural renewal, embodying a blend of tradition and modernity. The Old Library, with its castle-like grandeur and elegance, the magnificent West Library, and the bright and translucent North Library, serve as venues where generations of Tsinghua students undergo transformation. These libraries bear witness to the youthful aspirations and patriotic sentiments of these students, who take the world as their responsibility, pursue excellence, and demonstrate a willingness to dedicate themselves to their country and the world.

Entering a new era, we center our efforts on talent cultivation, scientific research, social service, cultural inheritance, and international exchange and cooperation. With a commitment to innovation and leadership, we strive to build an outstanding world-class university library. On the left knowledge is preserved, on the right history is recorded, and the Tsinghua Library stands tall, symbolizing our dedication and importance.
